People have been talking about the ‘global village’ for years. What is less clearly defined, however, is how we are supposed to move around in this village. Or, to put it another way, the same old answers and solutions, which have been around for a century or so, continue to be used to this day: planes – or, if you’re lucky, helicopters – cars, motorbikes and bicycles, although the latter offer only very restricted mobility.
