“Look at these lettuces!” Nadja Swarovski exclaims. “They grow upward!” Swarovski is giving a tour of her garden, proudly showing off the tall, conical lettuce, thickets of kale, tomato plants, and tiny scarlet strawberries just starting to peek out from under their wide leaves. “It has exploded,” she says. “I want to spend all my time out here.”
Tall, elegant, and whip-smart, Swarovski has a few other demands on her time, however. As one of the five Swarovskis who run the eponymous crystal business founded by her great-greatgrandfather in 1895, Nadja travels constantly, seeking out design talent for the firm to partner with.
